David Beckham Injury – Snapped Achilles Tendon

David Beckham suffered a serious injury that could shatter his hopes of a World Cup.  He will not be able to attend the World Cup as he snapped his Achilles Tendon while playing for AC Milan. The Achilles is particular vulnerable in older players whose elasticity has gone in their legs. David Beckon, being 34 years old has always been vulnerable to this type of injury. Milan’s medical people estimate five-six months’ minimum for recovery.

Beckham has not been a starter for England in recent matches,  however,  he was likely to make the World Cup roster as a reserve and looked forward to the high-profile June 12 matchup against the United States – and Galaxy teammate Landon Donovan.

For many, David Beckham was the most-known soccer player in the world, a fashion icon with a celebrity wife, former Spice Girl Victoria Beckham. A 2002 movie was even named after him, “Bend it Like Beckham.”

Galaxy coach Bruce Arena said, “Players get hurt whether they’re on loan or not,” he said. “Injuries are unfortunately part of the game.”
