Steve Jobs was a prodigy who dropped out of Reed College in Oregon and started Apple at age 21 with Wozniak out of his parents’ garage. By the age of 25, he was already a multimillionaire. He appeared on the cover of Time magazine at age 26, and was ousted at Apple at age 30, in 1984.

In the years that followed, he went into other businesses, including the founding of NeXT computers. Apple, had been struggling without Jobs and they brought him back by 1996 by buying NeXT. The next year, 1997, he became CEO and put the company on a remarkable upward path.

Jobs took advantage of the digital music age by creating the iPod and allowing people purchase music online and store it on an electronic device. This eliminated the need for people to carry compact discs around with them.

In 2007, Jobs changed the cell phone market with the iPhone. The iPhone was an extremely innovative addition to the cell phone market. It was met with great approval and its competitors faced great challenges competing with it.

In 2010, Apple joined the table market with its iPad. Similar to an iPhone but with a much larger screen, the iPad was quickly popular as an extremely portable and enjoyable device.

Steve jobs has been affected by a number of health issues over the years. In 2004, he fought back from an unusual form of pancreatic cancer. In 2009, he had to have a liver transplant. After several years of failing health, Jobs announced on Aug. 24, 2011 that he was stepping down as Apple’s chief executive. When this occurred, Jobs said, “I have always said if there ever came a day when I could no longer meet my duties and expectations as Apple’s CEO, I would be the first to let you know,” Jobs wrote in his letter of resignation. “Unfortunately, that day has come.”

Apple just released news on the iPhone 4s several days ago and now the world has been shocked as Steve Jobs has passed away. Jobs has also been very private regarding his personal life and has not been a media person.

The internet was full of mixed reactions. While many people are saddened and upset at the loss of Steve Jobs, some people did not have give him the respect he deserved. Many people were joking and trolling on popular social media sites. While it is clear that not everyone is a fan of Apple, people should really not be joking over a death this soon.
