The University of Texas was hit with a tragedy in Austin. On Tuesday, Colton Tooley, who was a student of the school, came armed with an AK-47 and opened fire on the campus. He reportedly took his own life shortly later after running into the school’s library. Continue reading

An anti-Semitic 88-year-old man opened gunfire with a rifle inside the crowded U.S. Holocaust Memorial Museum on Wednesday, June 10th, 2009. The shooting resulted in the fatal wounding of a security guard. The gunman, James Von Brunn was shot by other officer and was hospitalized in critical condition. Washington Police Chief Cathy Lanier said the gunman was “engaged by security guards immediately after entering the door” with a rifle. “The second he stepped into the building he began firing.”

Appalachian State University locked down all campus buildings for more than an hour Monday as authorities searched for a man who was seen carrying a gun nearby.
